Some of you may have noticed a new site which we’ve been slowly rolling out over the past couple of weeks.  The information on both the old and new sites is generally identical except for the ability to pay for training and packages which has not yet been integrated into WordPress.  The new site affords much greater flexibility and visual appeal than the current website and also allows subscription to articles as well as direct connections to both our Twitter and Facebook posts.  We welcome your comments and suggestions!

What follows is a breakdown of where and how to find Level One Training and Fitness on your favorite social media sites:

  • For updates (sometimes hourly) throughout the day, please follow us on Twitter.
  • For less frequent updates throughout the day, please visit us on Facebook.  And remember to “LIKE” if you haven’t already!
  • For more infrequent news and articles (usually weekly), please visit us on WordPress
  • For professional networking, please connect with Freddy on LinkedIn.


  • To write a review, please visit our Yelp page.
  • To check-in at workouts or training sessions, use “Places” on your Facebook app or check-in on Yelp or Foursquare.

Bits and pieces…

We’ve received many great questions ranging from cardio to nutrition to waist-to-hip ratio and more.  To address your query and reach the broadest audience possible, we will post a series of brief articles directly related to your questions on the WordPress site under the tab “Blog.”  —————  Halloween is coming up in a few weeks!  Please be mindful of the little ghouls and goblins.  If you’re out and and about with them, be sure you carry lighting, wear something reflective, and/or dress brightly.  Use common sense when approaching homes, especially in unfamiliar or questionable areas.  If you’re on the road, SLOW DOWN and be extra vigilant, this is one night you don’t want to run any little zombies down! If you’re enjoying adult beverages, designate a driver.  Lastly, screen ALL of the night’s loot from your little masquerader.  —————  The days are getting shorter and it’s dark much earlier.  If you’re out for a walk or a run in the evening hours, be sure you dress in light colored or reflective clothing and/or carry a lighted warning device or flashlight.  Don’t trust someone you don’t know in a moving vehicle to see much less avoid you!  —————  Referrals?  Yes, your paid referrals will earn you perks and credits towards training.  Ask about it at your next session!  —————  Remember to forward this newsletter to those whom you feel may benefit from its content.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind words and encouragement over the past several weeks.  It’s not often that the “trainer” is the one being inspired and motivated by his clientele!  Your loyalty and patience are priceless to me and rest assured I will continue to give you my very best when it comes to reaching your goals.  I welcome any feedback you have to offer so I can continue to grow and improve as your trainer.

Some of you have declared you would enjoy a workout in the rain and mud(!), but as the weather turns cooler and the days shorter, I will continue to seek out local indoor facilities in La Mesa for the occasional torrential downpours we’ll eventually encounter.  If you’ve seen a location which seems promising, please let me know and I will check it out.  I’m a stickler for quality and professionalism and want to make sure the location meets both our exacting standards.

I know some of you are unhappy with your performance or the results from your recent Fitness Assessments, but realize you are taking steps to make positive change.  The assessment is an extremely important part of the roadmap leading you to your goals; if you don’t know where you’re at, how can you hope to find directions to where you’re going?  I will do what I can to help you, but you must meet me halfway to ensure your success. 

Finally, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, whether it’s financial, administrative, workouts, nutrition, even the way I part my hair (okay, well maybe not that).  Remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question; the only stupid question is the one not asked.  Sometimes your questions force me to learn something new, other times it is you who learns something new.  Either way, it’s a win-win.  Until next time…
